Evacuation Exercises

The Evacuation Exercise (also known as an Evacuation Practice) is the culmination of detailed planning, effective training and transparent consultation with key stakeholders. Running an Evacuation Exercise for a building is mandatory and must be conducted at intervals not exceeding 1 year for each building. However, Evacuation Exercises are tangibly risk-laden and PR adverse undertakings that have a real potential of accruing negative outcomes if all factors have not been taken into consideration.

Equally, care must be taken to ensure the evacuation exercise is not over choreographed, as doing so will afford occupants with the misconception that all emergencies will be calm, neat, controlled and orderly. This fine line must be carefully managed by the consultant orchestrating your Evacuation Exercise, as the ramifications on both sides of the argument have the potential for significant consequences.

BFSA has over a decade of experience in evacuating complicated environments and will set pragmatic goals for Wardens to be measured by, ensuring a balance between risk mitigation and practical learning outcomes.
