News!

The enduring impact of the global pandemic on the emergency management industry and commercial real estate market is less about mask wearing/social distancing, and more to do with Warden Resourcing.

Flexible Work Arrangements or Hybrid/Agile workplace modelling has decimated the ability to respond to emergencies in a traditional sense, with many Warden resources working from home with a fair dose of regularity.

QLD Law requires all businesses to maintain an “appropriate” number of Wardens onsite to ensure they can carry out the evacuation procedures for the building.  BFSA have consulted with  a number of business whose evacuation responses have failed as a direct result of low/no Warden resourcing, resulting in regular near-miss events.

One thing is clear, the commercial property landscape had changed remarkably within the last 18 months.  Are you comfortable that your business is maintaining a capacity to respond to an emergency day to day?

If not, please feel free to speak to your BFSA consultant about some possible solutions!
